I bought this Television (several months) after my own son put the Wii system remote through the Sony 50″. The HD is so good it got getting used to, even in non-”HD” channels. I bought Ge for the 42LW5300 non-glare screen in the Samsung with the sparkly screen as we are in Florida and have a great deal of windows in the room exactly where it is located. A small problem we have is that during the night when the room is actually dark, the screen darkens, even with table as well as floor lamps on. The bedroom must be very well lit up for the colors to essentially be bright. Inside store, under the florescent equipment and lighting, the picture was fantastic, just like it is here during the daytime. I have found the dark viewing annoying, but the resident teenagers find this kind of completely irritating and wish to keep the overhead (heat producing) can lights on, which I then find irritating. And so the combat of dark versus. light continues. It boils down to whether a person watch TV in a vibrant vs darker space most of the time. This is a really good HD TV for brilliant rooms. If most of your TV time is a night (or in the dark room), since ours is, I would pay the additional $300 for your Samsung and take care of the daytime glare on the shiny screen. This is applicable to everything you enjoy, TV programming or perhaps DVDs in the person.
