It is a great first-time TV. I arrange it within minutes right out in the box. Very easy, simply no muss, no fuss. I did have to buy a separate High definition multimedia interface cable in order to connect it to my Dvd movie player, but that was also cheap and simple. Plug and Play.

The image looks great. It is such a great improvement over my personal analog TV that it was like viewing new movies. I would not have a Blu Ray gamer, but my Dvd movie player has an upscaling attribute that lets myself use the full 1080p capacity of the screen. A small problem I have had with the photograph is the Backlight Sensor, which in turn senses the light inside the room and adjusts the photo accordingly. I found this specific always left the image too dark, so I flipped it off and would the manual setting.

Aside from the Backlight Sensor, the tv screen doesn’t have a lot of characteristics. This is a bare-bones machine. The truth is, my old analog TV could perform more interesting points (like picture-in-picture), but frankly I barely employed those. There are a couple of different monitor settings, and you can zoom a picture if you want, but again, besides playing with that feature regarding awhile I by no means touched it again.

I am not sure if it is the television or my DVD player, but several of my old pre-widescreen Dvd disks, specifically my elderly Disney and Popeye cartoons, get automatically “widescreened” to adjust to the screen.
