I blamed one up most two weeks ago and am in no way disappointed. I was able to record stereo beat guitars, bass, principal and background vocal, and a guitar solo and cause them into a nice fuse with reverb subsequently but a match of flying glances at the manual. The DP-008 is slow to use, sounds great, and a perfect songwriting and exercise tool.
Everything records to an SD card TASCAM DP-008 Digital Portastudio – it could accept up to a 32GB card, although there aren’t any approved 32GB cards appearing on Tascam’s list of tested media on their website. And I couldn’t observe any of the 16GB cards they recommended either. I did find an approved 8GB card and am employing that until I may replace it with a 32. (I should advert that the DP-008 comes with a 2GB card properly in the box.)
No matter what you’re up to musically, there’s got to exist some good exercise you can make out of one of these babies. If you’re but getting begun in multi-track recording, this is a dandy berth to commencement – and I recommend spending the additional money, if you could afford it, to have this 8-track rather than the 4-track version that Tascam also makes. And eve if you’re a pro engineer, you’ll observe this handy, playfulness and the perfect songwriting or drill tool.
It doesn’t count much, so you’ll need to be careful where and how you situation it when you’re recording – I could easily see it flight exit a desk or table if you make a wrong move while you’ve went a guitar or headphones hooked up to it. And it’ll posed you back another $20 or so, merely I conceive it’s a good thought to choice up the optional AC adaptor, too.
